The New York Times quoted Professor David S. Cohen in an article that explored the messages about gender that the presidential race is transmitting to children.
The Oct. 18 article considers the ways that the “particular type of hyper masculinity” expressed by GOP nominee Donald Trump serve as a troubling example for children.
The article cites Cohen’s 2009 scholarly paper, which appeared in the Indiana Law Journal, about the myths about gender differences that are embedded in a trend toward single-sex education in public schools and the adverse impact that these misunderstandings have had on both boys and girls.
Cohen is an authority on gender and the law who co-authored “Living in the Crosshairs: The Untold Stories of Anti-Abortion Terrorism,” published in 2015 by Oxford University Press.
