Professor Norma Stein’s comments on U.S. pension legislation were featured in Pension & Investments on Oct. 14, 2013.
The article discusses the history of U.S. pension legislation and, particularly, ERISA, the 1974 Employee Retirement Income Security Act. Stein, who will be hosting an upcoming law school symposium on ERISA commented that some legislation post-ERISA has increased pension advocacy but “[t]here was a political element to that that has carried forward to this day.”
Professor Stein is a nationally recognized authority on pension law, employee benefits and tax law. In addition to producing a rich body of scholarship, he is actively involved in policy development and testifies frequently before Congress.
