In a Boston Globe article, Professor Adam Benforado defended the classroom practice of U.S. Senate hopeful Elizabeth Warren.
In the article, Benforado, who took Warren's 1L contracts class at Harvard Law School and later served as her teaching assistant, rebukes criticism that Warren imposed her ideological beliefs on her students. “That’s as far from the truth as you can get,” he said. “To the extent that there was an ideological angle on a case, she would always be playing the opposite of whatever the student was in the classroom.”
Professor Benforado received his JD from Harvard Law School. Benforado’s principal interest is in applying insights from the mind sciences—most notably embodied cognition, moral psychology and implicit social cognition—to law and legal theory. His recent scholarly work includes three chapters in "Ideology, Psychology, and Law," Oxford University Press (2012) and a forthcoming article in Topics in Cognitive Science.
