An Aug. 14 Wall Street Journal article about organizational change in the Cosi restaurant chain includes comments by Professor Karl Okamoto, a member of the corporation's board.
The article notes that Cosi's newest CEO, Carin L. Stutz, will get some help from a newly appointed board member, an "executive chairman," a salaried position with direct management oversight of the CEO.
Okamoto, an expert in corporate, venture capital, private equity law, securities law and corporate finance said the new executive chairman position allows the board to react faster to change CEOs if Stutz's business strategy does not pan out.
