The South Asian Journalists Association has named Professor Anil Kalhan a finalist for a 2011 journalism award.

Kalhan’s article, "Detention Reform and Its Discontents," which was published in the Dorf on Law blog, was nominated for outstanding editorial or commentary.

Other nominees for SAJA awards are journalists from the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, National Public Radio, TIME magazine and other leading media outlets.

Winners will be announced on June 18 at Columbia University.

In 2008, Kalhan received a SAJA award for his coverage of the constitutional crisis in Pakistan, which appeared in Asia Media News Daily and Dorf on Law.
