EvidenceProfBlog cited empirical research by Professor Emily Zimmerman concerning law students' preferences and expectations regarding grades and performance measures.
Zimmerman found that many law students express a strong desire for multiple graded assignments at the start of their first year but that this wanes by the end of their 1L year.
Zimmerman's article, "What Do Law Students Want? The Missing Piece of the Assessment Puzzle," will appear in the Rutgers Law Journal.
Her article, "An Interdisciplinary Framework for Understanding and Cultivating Law Student Enthusiasm," appeared in the DePaul Law Review in 2009.
The blog, which is part of Law Professor Blogs Network, is edited by Colin Miller, a member of the faculty at the John Marshall Law School.
