Professors Donald Tibbs and andré douglas pond cummings will discuss "Hip Hop and the Law," the new book they edited with the late Professor Pamela Bridgewater.

 

The book features chapters by broad array of scholars exploring the varied ways that hip hop music and culture intersect with the law and legal issues, from intellectual property law to mass incarceration.

 

Publication of the volume by Carolina Academic Press follows the 2012 course and lecture series that Tibbs and cummings created, which featured leading scholars including Bridgewater, who was a law professor at American University's Washington College of Law.
