Professor Hannah Bloch Wehba presented a paper at the Amsterdam Privacy Conference, organized by researchers at the University of Amsterdam to explore interdisciplinary perspectives on issues including cloud computing, privacy, the economics of personal data, security and anti-terrorism measures.
As a presenter in the Privacy and Democracy track, Bloch-Wehba discussed her paper, “Global Platform Governance: Private Power in the Shadow of the State,” which is forthcoming in the Southern Methodist University Law Review. The article explores the need for governance mechanisms in social media platforms, search engines and e-commerce to ensure accountability and to safeguard individual privacy, property rights and free expression.
Bloch-Wehba studies the intersection of civil liberties and cyber issues in the law.
