Alumnus Jason Gromley, ’09, is chairing the Inaugural Payer and Provider Summit on Social Determinants of Health for Complex Populations on Sept. 11 and 12 in Arlington, Virginia.
The two-day summit brings together public and private health care providers, insurers and patient advocates to explore strategies for curbing health care costs while improving outcomes for vulnerable populations.
Gromley is the vice president of government relations at Strategic Health Care and vice president of operations at the Root Cause Coalition, both in Washington, D.C. He will give opening remarks on the second day of the summit.
Since 2011, Gromley has focused on policy and coalition development to build strategic collaborations between health care organizations.
On Sept. 27, Gromley will give the keynote address at Greater New Orleans’ Second Annual Clinical Town Hall, sponsored by Humana. The event will focus on strategies for promoting collaborations across sectors that will improve public health with the goal of improving New Orleans residents’ health by 20 percent by 2020.
As a student, Gromley was a member of the Trial Team and received an award upon graduating for providing more than 125 hours of pro bono service.
