Professor David DeMatteo will offer a blueprint for the future of the field of psychology and law at the 2017 annual conference of the American Psychology-Law Society in Seattle, Washington on March 16.
As president of the American Psychology-Law Society for 2016-17, DeMatteo will give a presidential address exploring the issues that the organization and practitioners of the combined discipline face and outlining an agenda for the future.
The annual conference will featuring plenary sessions on 21st Century Policing, the Prosecutor’s Role in Reforming the Justice System and the Brendan Dassey Case, made famous through the Netflix “Making a Murderer” documentary.
DeMatteo is the director of the JD-PhD Program in Law and Psychology and a recognized authority on forensic mental health assessment, drug policy and offender diversion.
