A team representing the Black Law Students Association took Third Place at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Feb 19.
3Ls Yvette Tyson and Joshua Benjamin joined1Ls Alex Kungu and Elizabeth Yoder on the team.
Tyson was named the Best Advocate in the regional competition.
The team qualified for the national competition, which will be held March 8-12 in Houston, Texas.
The students were coached by alumna Laquan Lightfoot, ’14, an assistant district attorney in Philadelphia, and Mu’min Islam, founding member of MFI Law Group in Philadelphia.
