Professor Karl Okamoto presented “Bridging the Gap: LawMeets and the Rise of Creative Solutions” at the inaugural meeting of Bloomberg Law’s Corporate Transactions Academic Advisory Board in New York City on May 24.
The director of the Business and Entrepreneurship Program, Okamoto was also invited to serve on the advisory board.
Okamoto is the creator of LawMeets, competitions that test students’ skills in negotiating simulated business and intellectual property transactions. Since they were launched in 2010 and hosted at the law school, the competitions have expanded into seven regions, with national finals hosted by Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York City.
He is co-chair of the Business Law Education Committee of the ABA Business Law Section.
