On Feb. 18 Professor Donald Tibbs joins a panel of esteemed scholars to discuss the legacy of civil rights attorney and Justice Thurgood Marshall following a special WHYY screening of Mr. Civil Rights Thurgood Marshall and the NAACP.
Tibbs will serve on a panel with Dr. Diane Turner curator of the Blockson Collection at Temple University, Reggie Shuford, executive director of the ACLU and Kenneth Scott, president of the Beech Companies. They will discuss Marshall’s legacy as a civil rights activist and consider what lessons can be applied to modern-day society and legal practice.
Donald Tibbs’ expertise focuses on the overlapping issues of race, law, civil rights and criminal procedure.
