The Philadelphia Society of Clinical Psychologists named Emeritus Professor Donald Bersoff Psychologist of the Year.
Bersoff, the founding director of the law school’s Law and Psychology Program, served as president of the American Psychological Association in 2013.
He is the editor of the landmark “Ethical Conflicts in Psychology,” which is in its fourth edition and has been translated into Chinese.
Bersoff gave the keynote address at the society’s annual dinner on April 18, providing a legal and ethical critique of the Supreme Court of California’s 1976 ruling that mental health professionals have a duty to protect those who are being threatened with bodily harm by a patient.
