Susan Brooks, associate dean for experiential learning, will co-lead a discussion on legal education at "Law in the 21st Century: Creating a Legal System that Fosters Empathy, Compassion, and Mutual Understanding," a conference sponsored by the Project for Integrating Spirituality, Law and Politics at CUNY Law School on Sept. 13.
Brooks will also present at the 3rd Annual Asia Pro Bono Conference in Singapore on Oct. 3, taking part Brooks in a panel focused on “The DNA of Successful Pro Bono Partnerships.” The panel will explore case studies on law firm/in-house counsel/NGO partnerships, focusing on factors that make them successful.
A widely published scholar on clinical legal education, therapeutic jurisprudence and other topics, Brooks oversees the law school’s experiential learning programs, which include co-op, clinics, pro bono service and trial advocacy.
