The Philadelphia Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division has chosen 3L Stephany Gordon to receive the F. Sean Peretta Service Award.
The annual award recognizes an individual who has devoted substantial time to an innovative or non-traditional program that serves the community.
Gordon has worked closely with Professor Rachel López in the development of the law school’s Community Lawyering Clinic, which provides legal services, referrals and other forms of advocacy to residents of the Mantua and Powelton Village neighborhoods.
The treasurer of the Moot Court Board, Gordon has also served as a dean’s scholar and an ambassador for the law school’s Career Strategies Office.
Sean Peretta was a private practitioner and dedicated community activist who died at age 31. He had mentored and served as a role model to children in West Philadelphia.
