Oxford University Press has published the second edition of “Forensic Mental Health Assessment: a Casebook,” co-edited by Professor David DeMatteo, who directs the law school’s JD-PhD Program in Law and Psychology.
The book is “a fascinating and authoritative volume that forensic clinicians will find of indispensable value,” wrote reviewer John Monahan, the Shannon Distinguished Professor of Law, Psychology and Psychiatry at the University of Virginia.
Professor Kirk Heilbrun of the Drexel University Department of Psychology, who teaches Mental Health Law at the law school, is another co-editor of the volume.
DeMatteo, who had been elected a fellow of the American Psychological Association in 2013, received certification in forensic psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology in April. He is among just 312 board certified forensic psychologists in the U.S. and one of just 12 in Pennsylvania.
