Professor Robert Field will receive the Charles Ewing Memorial President's Award from the Eastern Pennsylvania Geriatrics Society at its annual meeting on Dec. 8.
The prestigious award, named for the founder of the Delaware Valley Geriatrics Society (now known as EPGS), goes to an individual who has made significant contributions in the field of aging and the understanding of geriatrics.
Field, who will be the keynote speaker at the event, is a nationally recognized authority on public health policy and the law. He holds a joint appointment as professor of health management and policy at Drexel's School of Public Health. He is also a lecturer in health care management at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a senior fellow of Penn’s Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics.
Field’s most recent book, “Mother of Invention: How the Government Created ‘Free-Market Health Care,” was published by Oxford University Press in 2014.
