Professor Karl Okamoto has been named co-chair of the Business Law Education Committee of the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section. Okamoto will serve a three-year term in the position.
The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, the largest charitable organization devoted to entrepreneurship, has appointed Okamoto to the editorial board of the Entrepreneurship Law website.
An expert in corporate, venture capital, private equity and securities law, Okamoto is a pioneer in legal education, having launched the LawMeets and IPLawMeet competitions and founded Apprenet, a start-up that incorporates in-person and online simulations that allow law students and early-career practitioners to hone their transactional lawyering skills.
