Professors Susan L. Brooks and Emily Zimmerman took part in Experience the Future, the Inaugural National Symposium on Experiential Education in Law at Northeastern University, starting on Oct. 26.
Brooks, who is associate dean for experiential learning, presented a paper during a session called “Reimagining Competencies in Experiential Education in Law: Mission, Goals, Vocabulary.”
Zimmerman presented a paper during a session called “Beyond Carnegie: Experiential Education as an Integrated Curriculum,” which focused on trends that have emerged in the years since the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching recommended more emphasis on hands-on learning in the law school curriculum.
