Jack Stucker, a 3L, received an Outstanding Law Student Service Award from the Public Interest Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association on Nov. 28.

The award recognized Stucker’s role as “a champion in providing equal access to the law,” through work he has performed throughout law school. During the summer after his 1L year, Stucker worked at Community Legal Aid Society of Delaware, providing protection and advocacy for individuals with mental illnesses and developmental disabilities.

As a 2L, Stucker completed a co-op placement with the Homeless Advocacy Project, providing case management for consumer fraud, housing access to identification, immigration and public benefits.

He later completed a summer internship with the Housing Unit of Community Legal Services, where he continues providing service advocating for clients who have cases before the Court of Common Pleas, Philadelphia Municipal Court and the Fair Housing Commission. Stucker also chaired the law school's 2012 Public Interest Auction, which raised more than $20,000 to support students completing unpaid summer public-interest jobs.
