Professor Norman Stein will be a guest speaker at two employment law symposiums in St. Louis, Mo. and Charlottesville, Va. on March 29 and 30.

On March 29, Stein will be at the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Mo. for “Employee Benefits in an Era of Entrenchment,” a panel discussion concerning employee benefits, health care and social security.

Stein will be presenting his views on the tax costs and distribution of tax benefits in qualified retirement plans.

On March 30, Stein will be in Charlottesville, Va. to take part in the Virginia Tax Review, an annual tax symposium where faculty and practitioners come together to discuss and debate the latest tax issues. Stein will open a discussion considering the tax implications for retirement security in light of the government’s proposed changes to the tax code as it relates to retirement plans.

Stein's scholarship focuses chiefly on employee benefits law, federal taxation and social insurance. His articles have appeared in The Tax Law Review, Washington and Lee Law Review and Law and Contemporary Problems, among others.
