On July 21-23, the law school is hosting a conference, “Legal Information: Scholarship and Teaching,” that will attract law librarians from around the U.S. who teach and write about legal research.

This will be the third annual gathering of law librarians and legal research scholars who are developing a comprehensive approach to teaching legal research that helps prepare students for professional practice.

“Research is an absolutely critical component of legal practice, and so it’s an essential element of legal education,” said Mark Bernstein, director of the Legal Research Center, and a member of the faculty. “I’m delighted that we’ll be hosting an event that focuses on this important area.”

The conference will precede the 2011 Annual Meeting of the American Association of Law Libraries, which will be held at the Philadelphia Convention Center on July 23-26.
