Director of the Health Law Program and Professor Barry Furrow was the keynote speaker at the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law Health Law Society's Annual Scholarship Banquet on April 15, 2011.
On April 14, Professor Furrow was a panelist at "Ethical Choices When Medicine Can't Save Your Life," sponsored by the Jewish Social Policy Action Network in Wynnewood, Pa.
On April 5, Professor Furrow discussed the justifications for the Affordable Care Act and some of its possible effects in improving access, promoting patient safety and regulating insurance markets at Hamline University School of Law.
And on March 31, he appeared at the University of Montana School of Law, where he presented “Health Reform 2011: The Problem of U.S. High Cost Health Care.”
Professor Furrow is a pioneer in the field of health law. He is the lead author of “Health Law — Cases, Materials and Problems” (now in its 6th edition), which remains the leading casebook in the field. He is also co-author of the treatise, “Health Law,” which the U.S. Supreme Court has cited three times.
