Martha Candiello, an attorney with deep roots in the legal community and more than 30 years of experience in the profession, will head the school’s Career and Professional Development Office, beginning in January.
The former general counsel of Sunoco Chemicals, Candiello was responsible for the management of all legal affairs for the business from 2003 to 2006. From 1979 to 2000, Candiello rose through the ranks of the Corporate Legal Department of Rohm and Haas Company, where she served as strategic business counsel for a $1.2 billion business group from 1998 through 2000. In that capacity, she was a member of the senior management team. In an earlier role at Rohm and Haas, she served as assistant general counsel and chief regulatory counsel for the $6 billion global specialty chemical company. From 2006 to 2008, she was director of general counsel relations at Reed Smith, LLP, where she had responsibility for evaluating and strengthening the firm’s relationships with its key clients worldwide. Most recently, Candiello was principal of ClientBridge, LLC, which helps professional service organizations gain strategic advantage by identifying and implementing leading-edge client service standards.
She earned her JD from Rutgers University School of Law-Camden, and her BA, with distinction, from Cornell University.
