Nicole is an experienced health care regulatory attorney who collaborates with her clients to solve their operational and business challenges, expand their platforms, and close deals. Her national practice includes health care providers and suppliers, private equity funds and other investors in the health care industry, commercial and managed Medicare and Medicaid managed care organizations, and life sciences companies. Nicole’s clients trust her responsiveness, good judgment, thoughtful analyses, and practical solutions.
She regularly advises her clients on state and federal fraud and abuse laws, including the Stark Law, federal Anti-Kickback Statute, and beneficiary inducement prohibitions, and assists clients in structuring complex transactions and contractual arrangements to comply with those laws. She also advises clients on their reimbursement challenges, developing and navigating value-based care models and payment programs, and health care licensing and corporate practice of medicine matters. Nicole utilizes her regulatory experience to help her clients prevent and defend against government investigations, audits and False Claims Act cases, and in conducting internal compliance assessments.
In addition to her core practice, Nicole is a member of the firm’s Retail & Consumer Goods group, a multi-disciplinary team with a primary focus on advising retail pharmacy and health clinic clients.
Nicole is active in pro bono matters, having handled matters for The American Civil Liberties Union, The Women’s Law Project, Planned Parenthood, The Innocence Network, and The Pennsylvania Innocence Project. She currently serves on Executive Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Business Law Section as its Treasurer and Secretary, is a former co-chair of the Business Law Section’s Healthcare Law Committee, and is a former member of the Board of Directors for The Center for Emerging Visual Artists (CFEVA), a nonprofit that works to advance the careers of professional artists in the Philadelphia region. Nicole also is the U.S. Chair for the firm’s Women’s’ Initiative Network.
