Jeffrey Smith Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Comcast Cable Jeffrey Smith is a Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel in Comcast’s Cable Law Department and heads the Cable Operations practice group, counseling in the areas of advertising & marketing, new product introductions, pricing, purchasing and procurement, benefits and general operations. Jeff’s organization advises the Xfinity, Comcast Business, Xfinity Mobile and Xfinity Home business units, as well as the strategic business development group. Jeff joined Comcast in 1992 after initially practicing with Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, and during his tenure with Comcast has held a number of positions, including General Counsel of its former cellular division and later its European wireless venture in Brussels, and as the company’s board representative on a number of European affiliates. Jeff has served on a number of non-profit boards in the region, including the Legacy Youth Tennis (formerly Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis) and on the Consistory of the Pennsylvania Southeast Conference of the United Church of Christ. He is also co-lead of the Comcast Law Department’s Diversity Committee. Jeff is a graduate of Brown University (’84) and Harvard Law School (’87) and lives in Berwyn with his wife of 34 years, Judy.
