Harold B. Dichter
Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Secretary of Aramark
Harold grew up in the suburbs of Boston. He attended the University of Pennsylvania and spent one year at International Christian University in Tokyo, Japan. He received a BA in Economics and Oriental Studies from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990. Harold attended Harvard Law School and received a JD in 1994. Harold was admitted to the New York bar in 1995 and the Pennsylvania bar in 2003.
Harold started his legal practice at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York where he engaged in a broad corporate practice in capital markets and mergers and acquisitions. Harold also spent two and half years in Simpson Thacher’s Tokyo office representing Japanese companies in both capital markets and mergers and acquisitions transactions and is proficient in Japanese.
In 2003, Harold joined Aramark as the head corporate lawyer with responsibility for leading Aramark’s corporate legal function including securities, mergers and acquisitions, financing and corporate governance related matters. Harold has continued to have that responsibility since and guided Aramark through its going-private transaction in 2007 and its initial public offering in 2013. For several years Harold oversaw the international legal group of Aramark consisting of fourteen lawyers in seven countries. Harold later assumed responsibility for overseeing the litigation and employment law and privacy and IT legal functions. Since 2019, Harold has also served as the Corporate Secretary of Aramark coordinating the activities of the Board of Directors and its committees and advising the Board and committees with respect to corporate governance. Harold also serves on the board of AIM Services, Aramark’s 50% owned joint venture in Japan.
Harold serves on the board of the Central Philadelphia Development Corporation.
Harold and his wife, Gloria, have three daughters and reside in Wayne, Pennsylvania. Harold enjoys travel, skiing and yoga.
