Wayne N. Outten is a founding and managing partner of Outten & Golden, LLP. His practice focuses exclusively on representing individuals in all areas of employment law. He co-chairs the firm’s Executives and Professionals Practice Group.
Outten received his BS from Drexel University in 1970 and his JD from New York University School of Law in 1974, where he was an Arthur Garfield Hays Civil Liberties Fellow. Outten has been selected by his peers for Best Lawyers in America every year since 1987 and as one of New York’s Super Lawyers, where he has been listed as one of the "Top 100 New York Metro Super Lawyers" every year since 2006.
Outten is a member and leader in numerous professional associations, including the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA), the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, the Section of Labor and Employment Law of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association's Labor & Employment Law Section, and the Employment Disputes Committee of the CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution.
Outten has also lectured on employment law, including negotiation, mediation, and arbitration of employment disputes. He also lectures on employment and severance agreements and retaliation and whistleblower claims. He is a widely published author whose work is frequently found in legal publications.
