First Cycle

Following a successful pilot, the first cycle was during the spring term of the 2024-25 academic year.  Below are the details about the first cycle and results.  The process included meaningful evaluations by program representatives as well as the Deans which led to meaningful conversations between the Provost and the colleges and schools.

Process Details

  • Deans will select 1/3 of undergraduate programs to be reviewed for this academic year (programs will be reviewed on every 3 years)
  • College/schools with smaller undergraduate portfolios will review all programs
  • The plan will be to include graduate programs beginning in year 2.

Timeline

  • April 28 - June 9, 2025: Program Reports
  • July 9 - August 22, 2025: College Reports
  • September & October, 2025: College Meetings with Provost
  • November, 2025: University Report Creation

Below are resources to support the Annual Program Review Process

Gathered Feedback and Suggested Improvements

  • Gathered suggested improvements from program and college reports as well as other stakeholder feedback
  • Shared suggested improvements with small sub-committee of the PPRC and then solicited solutions
  • Gathered feedback from the Deans and the Provost about their experience with the process
  • Remove questions that didn't drive conversation around continuous improvement
  • Improve training resources
  • Work to improve the user experience mostly centered around using Quatrics (coming in the 3rd cycle)
  • Consider how to integrate AI into the process
  • Gather planning information from colleges and schools in order to focus on further integration of APR
  • Develop a more organized method of tracking college action items that stemmed from the reports and meetings with the Provost
  • Close the loop by sharing results with a larger group of stakeholders
