Data Request

The Office of Institutional Research, Assessment, and Accreditation (IRAA) is a key reporting entity for the university and is dedicated to providing leadership to support the planning, management, accreditation, assessment and evaluation activities at every level of Drexel. To do so, it must maintain a data repository in electronic and print formats. Both the reports and the data that underpin them are available as appropriate to describe university activities, inform policy, and support management planning.

The Office of Institutional Research, Assessment, and Accreditation disseminates information and data through various outlets, such as college publications and scholarly journals, and in response to both internal and external requests.

Drexel University is committed to transparency and providing the public, prospective students, researchers, and other interested parties with accessible, accurate, and comprehensive information about the institution. Two key resources for publicly available data are the Drexel University Factbook and The Common Data Set.

The Drexel University Factbook

The Factbook is an annual publication that offers a detailed overview of the university's operations, including student demographics, enrollment statistics, graduation rates, faculty information, and much more. It serves as a valuable resource for understanding the university's academic environment and operational dynamics.

The Common Data Set

The Common Data Set initiative aims to improve the comparability of data reported by colleges and universities. It provides a standard format for institutions to share commonly requested statistics and information, making it easier for the public to find specific data points across different institutions. The CDS covers academic offerings, freshman admissions, transfer admissions, library collections, and much more.

Internal Requests

Drexel Faculty and Professional Staff: If you are a Drexel employee (faculty or staff) with a need to access administrative data resources, you may request a free viewer license to access the Tableau server by emailing irae_requests@drexel.edu.

Tableau server serves as Drexel University's platform for data visualization, offering faculty and staff the ability to support decision-making processes with in-depth analysis and interactive data presentations. To enhance operational efficiency and informed decision-making across the university, the Office of Institutional Research, Assessment, and Accreditation facilitates access to the Tableau server for eligible employees.

Currently, all academic department heads, Deans, and many administrative leaders and offices have viewer licenses to use Tableau.

If you are unable to find the information you need from the available resources, please submit a Request for data to irae_requests@drexel.edu.

When submitting a request, please include:

  • The nature of your request (data analysis, report, Tableau dashboard, etc.).
  • Specific data points needed (e.g., student success metrics, faculty data, benchmarking information).
