Celebrating the Life of Alumnus and Supporter Bill Taylor
February 12, 2025
The Goodwin community was heartbroken to learn of the passing of Evening College (EC) alumnus and long-time Drexel employee William “Bill” Taylor. Bill and his devoted wife Lyn, a fellow Evening College alum, have been Goodwin College friends and benefactors since they graduated in the 1980’s.
Lyn and Bill met as EC students when Lyn was editor of the Drexel Dragon, the Evening College newsletter, and Bill responded to the publication’s call for a photographer. After earning his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Bill began a career with Drexel University in facilities, and he and Lyn married soon after graduating. He remained actively involved with the college as an alum, serving as the secretary of the Cross Keys Service Fraternity and earning several awards for service including induction into the Mary S. Irick Drexel Society, Drexel’s longest continually offered award.

Bill was always willing to lend a hand in support of Goodwin and its students. He loved to play Santa for the annual Goodwin College Children’s Holiday Party and contributed wherever and whenever he could.
Bill succumbed to a brief battle with cancer in 2024, leaving behind Lyn and son Andrew, who works at Drexel and was a Goodwin student himself. Bill will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
