Building Resilience: Succession Planning for Nonprofit Organizations

Tuesday, April 20, 2027

12:00 PM-1:00 PM

The HBO series Succession chronicled the exploits of siblings as they sought to gain control of their father's multinational media corporation. In real life, nonprofits and small businesses use succession planning as a management tool to prepare for leadership transition. While succession planning requires thoughtful consideration, it is a tool that helps mitigate uncertainty and disruption during times of transition.

In this Goodwin Great Talk, we take a closer look at the strategies, resources and best practices used by nonprofits to support an effective leadership transition. Given the challenges facing nonprofits related to funding, governance, limited resources, leadership transition and political uncertainty, it is imperative that organizations plan for the future.
