Faculty Recognition Awards
The Office for Faculty Excellence & Academic Culture is pleased to announce nominations are now being accepted for the 2025–2026 Faculty Recognition Awards. Awardees will be celebrated during President Antonio Merlo’s Inauguration Week in April, shifting our annual awards cycle to align with other events honoring academic excellence.
Nominations are invited from all units across campus and should be reserved for individuals who are clearly exceptional in the category for which they are nominated. Brief descriptions of the awards are provided below. Details such as eligibility criteria and application deadlines are available on InfoReady via the link for each award.
- NEW! Provost Award for Faculty Excellence. This award recognizes full-time faculty who demonstrate outstanding performance across research/scholarship/creative activity, teaching, and service. Emphasizes holistic excellence, alignment with Drexel’s mission and values, and leadership as a model for colleagues and students. Accomplishments at Drexel are weighted more heavily than those elsewhere.
- Provost Award for Outstanding Scholarly Productivity. Recognize full-time faculty whose research, scholarship, and/or creative activity have had major impact on their field, public perceptions of Drexel, and society. Awardees demonstrate sustained excellence and leadership relative to career stage.
- Provost Award for Pedagogical Innovation. This award recognizes full-time faculty who implement outstanding innovations in teaching and learning, including new approaches to curriculum design, interdisciplinary instruction, community or workforce engagement, or the creative application of effective, inclusive, experiential, and student-centered teaching practices.
- Adjunct Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence. This award honors an adjunct faculty member who exemplifies high-quality teaching and student mentorship. Accomplishments at Drexel are weighted more heavily than those elsewhere.
- Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching. Funded by the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Foundation, this is the University’s most prestigious teaching award, recognizing sustained excellence in teaching by full-time faculty.
Due to the adjusted awards cycle, two Lindback Awards will be conferred, with submission criteria based on teaching evaluations from the respective academic years:
