A large section of the Drexel Founding Collection’s metals collection are ancient Roman coins and European medals donated to the Collection in the 1890s and early 1900s. The Roman coins date from about 300–100 BCE depict Roman leaders Ptolemy I, Nero, Hadrian, Vespasian, among many others. The Founding Collection also holds a number of stunning holloware pieces including dinner plates by Philips Garden, a coffee pot by John Munns, and an 18th century epergne by Thomas Pitts.
