A significant portion of the holdings in the Drexel Founding Collection were given to the University by the Drexel Family or were made by members of the family. The Founding Collection has the largest collection of paintings by family patriarch, Francis Martin Drexel, painter turned banker, as well as furnishings, paintings and sculpture from Anthony J. Drexel’s home displayed throughout Drexel’s Main Building, as well as ceramics from John Rozet Drexel’s yacht, and a painting by A.J. Drexel’s daughter, Frances (Fannie) Mae Drexel.
