Restoring Treasures from The Drexel Collection

A presentation on the conservation of objects from The Drexel Collection including the treatment and conservation of a pair of celestial and terrestrial library globes and stands by Charles Smith & Son, c. 1870, and the conservation of paintings from the Collection. All of these pieces were selected for conservation as part of an initiative started in 2012 to improve the care and preservation of The Drexel Collection.
 
Conservators, T.K. McClintock and Aella Diamantopoulos, will discuss the processes they used for their conservation treatments and some of the issues they have come across when working with the materials from The Drexel Collection.

Light refreshments will be served.
