Meet This Year's IDEA Fellows
December 8, 2025
This month the Dornsife School of Public Health introduces our new cohort of IDEA Fellows.
The 2025-26 IDEA Fellows will support impactful research and foster development through engagement and advocacy (IDEA) work at the school work at Dornsife.
The Fellows are supported by Dr. Reneé Moore, Biostatistics Research Professor and Associate Dean for Culture, Community & Opportunity (CCO), and other faculty, students, and staff at DSPH.
Each Fellow is matched with a mentor to work on a specific project. This year's projects include:
- Transition Pathways at the A.J. Drexel Autism Institute
- Preparing Future Public Health Leaders through the Public Health Leadership Institute
- CRISOL Mente: A Multilevel Community Intervention to Reduce Mental Health Disparities Among Latinos
- Exposure to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and ACEs Screening in Fathers of Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs
- Community Engaged Evaluation to Support Black Maternal Health in Philadelphia
- Newborns & Neighbors: Community-Driven Perinatal Peer Support Model
- Building Economic Equity through Intergenerational Trauma-informed Financial Education
- An Examination of Potential Socioeconomic Modifiers on Chemical Mixtures and Their Risk on Depression
In addition to their project, Fellows become a part of the Office of CCO and meet regularly.
Now in its sixth year, the IDEA Fellowship will run from January - May 2026 for undergrad and master's students and July - September 2026 for doctoral students.. Fellows are compensated for 10 hours per week for the position. The fellowship is open to all Dornsife students.
"As an IDEA fellow, I want to engage in community-service-oriented public health research that benefits those it focuses on, not just through results but also through its process." said Nipuni Gomes, a PhD, Health Services Research and Policy.
