William Jenaway

President Emeritus, Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI)
Dr. William Jenaway is President Emeritus of the Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI). His employment includes over 40 years of expertise in the insurance industry, leading nationwide efforts in risk control, training, consulting, third party administration, disaster management, large loss investigations, and related functions.
Dr. Jenaway has also spent over 50 years as an active member of Pennsylvania's fire and EMS community, serving as Fire Chief in East Bethlehem Township in Washington County, and in King of Prussia in Montgomery County, where he remains active as Assistant Chief of Safety for the Upper Merion Township Fire and EMS Department.
Dr. Jenaway's work has been recognized through more than 400 related magazine articles, over 300 speeches and presentations, and multiple opportunities to testify before state and federal agencies on life-safety and fire-safety matters. He has also served as Adjunct Professor at St. Joseph's University and the California University of Pennsylvania graduate programs in Risk Analysis, Threat Assessment, and Strategic Planning. He has also served on various committees and board over the years, including the American Insurance Association Fire Protection Committee, multiple National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) Standard Committees, as Vice Chair of the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE) Fire Service Accreditation Board, the International Public Safety Data Institute (IPSDI), and as a member of the Presidential Commission to Assess Domestic Response Capabilities for Terrorism Involving Weapons of Mass Destruction. In 2001, Dr. Jenaway was named the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) Volunteer Fire Chief of the Year.
Dr. Jenaway holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Master of Arts, and a PhD. He is also a certified Chief Fire Officer (CFO) and Chief Training Officer (CTO) and holds several other credentials and designations.
