Director David Hollinger
Director for Fire and Emergency Services, Drexel University
David Hollinger was appointed to the position of Director for Fire and Emergency Services at Drexel University in 2013. He is responsible for the University’s fire/life safety and emergency preparedness programs. He also liaisons with and advises Drexel EMS – a student organization that provides emergency medical care as a PA Dept. of Health certified quick response service (QRS) to the Main Campus and the immediate community.
Designated as an Executive Fire Officer (EFO) by the U.S. Fire Administration, Hollinger is certified in public management (CPM), fire protection (CFPS & CLSS-HC), emergency management (CEM®), fire code inspection, instructional techniques, and emergency medicine (PA EMT). He holds an undergraduate degree (BS) in Fire Administration and a graduate degree (MPA) in Public Management from the University of the District of Columbia.
Hollinger previously served as a Firefighter with the City of Alexandria, Virginia, Firefighter, Sergeant, and Lieutenant in operations and later as Program Manager for technical fire code enforcement with the District of Columbia Fire Department, Fire Protection and Life Safety Technician for Dover Motorsports, and as Fire Chief for the Department of Fire and Rescue Services in Reading, Pennsylvania.
