    Description: This workshop will cover the basics of effective communication and help prepare scholars to present their work in the form of both oral and poster presentations. Attendees will practice utilizing a narrative framework to communicate their scholarly work and learn best practices for effectively creating and using visual aids across different types of presentations. Faculty mentors from various disciplines will be available to provide additional guidance as you prepare your conference presentation.

    Please note that some programs/departments/disciplines may have specific guidance on or requirements for oral and poster presentations. This session is meant to provide general, interdisciplinary guidance in accordance with the requirements for submission to the annual Drexel Emerging Graduate Scholars (DEGS) Conference.

    Description: Present your research in three minutes with one static slide using jargon-free language to a broad audience? How hard could it be? This workshop will help individuals preparing for Drexel University's official Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition at the annual Drexel Emerging Graduate Scholars (DEGS) Conference, which follows the guidelines of the global phenomenon founded by the University of Queensland, an international competition in which over 600 universities and institutions across more than 59 countries participate.

    While participation in this workshop is not required for competitors, it is highly recommended. The workshop and materials will be recorded and shared for those who are unable to participate live.
