Internal Sitecore Links

Use internal Sitecore links when linking to pages or files (PDF, DOC, PPT, etc.) that are also hosted in Sitecore. Never use absolute URLs (drexel.edu/abc/xyz).

Page Links

  1. Click Show Editor (usually for the Body field) and highlight the text you want to display as a link.
  2. Click Insert Sitecore Link.
  3. In the Insert a Link window, select Internal Link and then click the page you want to link to.
  4. Click Link. You will see the blue hyperlink Sitecore created in the Text Editor field.

  5. Click Accept if you are finished editing.
  6. Save and Approve for Publication.

File Links

  1. Click Show Editor (usually for the Body field) and highlight the text you want to display as a link.

    Note: When linking to a file, add the file type in square brackets and all uppercase after the link text as part of the link (e.g., [PDF], [DOC], [PPT]). This is required for accessibility compliance. Example: Sitecore Basics [PDF].

  2. Click Insert Sitecore Link.
  3. In the Insert a Link window, select Media Items, expand the Files folder, and then click the file you want to link to.
  4. Click Link. You will see the blue hyperlink Sitecore created in the Text Editor field.

  5. Click Accept if you are finished editing.
  6. Save and Approve for Publication.
