Title:
The Life Cycle of an Emerging Company
Speaker:
Michael S. Harrington, Esq., JD
Partner
Duane Morris LLP
Details:
Start-up and emerging companies in the technology, medtech and biotech space are unique companies that differ in many important ways from a more traditional company. These companies generally are driven by intellectual property and are developing innovative solutions to meet unmet or poorly addressed market needs. They have high growth potential and must move forward rapidly in order to get to market and take advantage of the market opportunity before a competing technology or company arrives. These companies usually require significant outside capital to finance and support their activities in order to accomplish this rapid growth.
This presentation will explore the five stages of growth experienced by these emerging companies—the Concept stage, the Development Stage, the Commercialization Stage, the Growth Stage, and the Exit Stage—and will address the different challenges and opportunities presented by each stage in order to better equip early stage entrepreneurs to successfully proceed through these stage and accomplish the ultimate goal—a successful exit. If you are an early stage entrepreneur, an innovator, a student interested in this space, or an advisor to emerging companies, this presentation is for you.
