Details:
Dr. Andres Kriete and Jay Bhatt will discuss and review the definition and examples of ethics, plagiarism, and cheating. Drexel policies and School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems policies will also be explained. These policies affect all faculty, students, staff, and any Biomed community members.
Biosketches:
Andres Kriete, PhD, is Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Teaching Professor in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems at Drexel University. Dr. Kriete received training in computational biology in academic, clinical and industrial environments and joined Drexel University in 2003. His research interests include cell aging, skin cancer, computational modeling, aging pathways, and is a collaborating partner in the Aging Initiative at Drexel University College of Medicine.
Jay Bhatt, Librarian for Engineering and Biomedical Engineering at Drexel University Libraries, is responsible for building library collections in biomedical engineering and engineering subject areas, in outreach, and in teaching information and research skills to faculty, researchers, and students. He provides individual and small group consultations, research support to faculty and students, and conducts instructional sessions for different classes as requested by faculty members. He is passionate about participating in conversations and raising awareness about Academic and Research Integrity, Open Access, Open Data, and Open Educational Resources in Engineering, amongst faculty and students.
