Engineering Innovation provides an introduction for passionate engineers, scientists, and savvy entrepreneurs showing how to translate emerging technologies into commercially viable products. This book relates Funding Strategies, Business Development, and Product Development to one another as a technology is refined, the business model is validated, a product is iteratively developed, then manufactured for commercialization. This seminar uses case studies and a pitch deck of integrated FDA regulated medical devices to discuss the key principles in Engineering Innovation: From Idea to Market Through Concepts and Case Studies.

Biosketch:
Jennifer Vondran has over a decade of experience in management and technology consulting for the life sciences and healthcare sector and has worked with clients (from start-ups to global) to safeguard the commercial success of new products and technologies. Jennifer has a proven track record with R&D, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, IT, and PMO clients.

Jennifer is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) accredited by the Project management Institute (PMI). She holds a Bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering and a Master’s in Materials Science and Engineering degree from Drexel University.

Benjamin Legum has a proven track record with operations, project management, R&D, prototype development, manufacturing process streamlining, quality and commercialization. He holds a Bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering and a Master’s in Materials Science and Engineering degree from Drexel University.

Benjamin is founder of Keystone Scientific, a technology management consulting firm. When he was an assistant professor at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, he managed the Center for Applied Research and the Innovation Laboratories; the university’s technology incubator and prototyping facilities. Benjamin acted as a liaison between industry partners and Clarion University by conducting and coordinating applied research projects, internships, and providing industrial consultation services.
