Last Call to Earn Money From the 2023 Wellness Incentive Program

Drexel’s Wellness Incentive Program is winding down its sixth year, concluding Nov. 30. Have you maxed out your points yet? All full-time and part-time benefits-eligible faculty and professional staff enrolled in a Drexel medical plan, or full-time employees who waive medical coverage, are eligible to earn up to $400 during this program, which runs annually from Jan. 1 to Nov. 30. Spouses and domestic partners who receive medical insurance through Drexel, or spouses and domestic partners of full-time employees who waive medical coverage, are also eligible to participate and earn up to $250. Please read on for more details on ways to earn points.

If You Haven’t Yet, Complete Your Annual Personal Health Profile

Still need to get started? First, fill out your Personal Health Profile (PHP), which is required each year before you are eligible to receive any payouts in your paycheck; completing it will automatically earn you $50. Your PHP will give you a glimpse of your overall health; if you aren’t sure about your cholesterol levels or other health indicators, Health Advocate makes it easy to fill in your best estimate so that you can receive a snapshot of your overall health. You can log in to the Wellness Incentive Program and fill out your PHP at members.healthadvocate.com.

Quick and Easy Process for Preventive Care Points

Earn 200 Points ($200) for Preventive Medical Care

Reporting your preventive care is a great way to both improve your well-being and earn points. You can earn 50 points per preventive care visit, and up to 200 preventive care points total. Preventive care exams include an annual physical, vision exam, and screenings for: breast cancer, cervical cancer, colon cancer, osteoporosis, prostate cancer and skin cancer. You can claim points for these preventive care exams quickly and easily by self-reporting your exams. Simply upload proof of your visit, which may include an “Explanation of Benefits” from Independence Blue Cross, a receipt, a bill, or other documentation that demonstrates that you received a preventive care exam. Take some time to review your preventive care visits and upload proof to claim your points, or check what preventive care you can schedule and report before the end of 2023.

Earn an Additional 100 Points ($100) for Dental Cleanings

Dental health is an important component of your overall wellbeing, and regular dental cleanings can help prevent heart disease, inflammation, and even lower your risk of a stroke. You can earn 50 points for each dental cleaning/exam that you complete annually, for up to 100 points. Please note that claims from Cigna will not be sent automatically to Health Advocate; you must self-report your dental visits by uploading proof of visit (an Explanation of Benefits from your dental insurance provider, or a bill or a receipt from your visit).

Stay Healthy & Happy With the Help of Your Partner

Spouses and domestic partners who receive medical insurance through Drexel, or spouses and domestic partners of Drexel employees who waive coverage, are also invited to participate in the Wellness Incentive Program. Eligible spouses/partners will be able to earn up to $250, paid via the employee's monthly check. Like employees, spouses have until the end of November to enroll in the 2023 program and earn points.

Spouses and domestic partners have access to their own secure portal to complete activities. Like employees, they also must complete their 2023 Personal Health Profile before any spousal incentive payouts are processed.

Please note that Drexel employees who are covered under a Drexel partner or spouse's health insurance plan will be considered "spouses" in this program and will be eligible for the $250 spouse incentive, not the $400 employee incentive. Drexel employees who are married to another Drexel employee must maintain separate health insurance plans provided by Drexel for both spouses to be eligible for the full $400 employee wellness benefit.
