PIDC D’Alessio Scholarship for Urban Development Open for 2024 Applications

PIDC, Philadelphia’s public-private economic development corporation, is opening applications for the 2024 PIDC- D’Alessio Scholarship for Urban Development to support graduate students pursuing a career in urban studies, economics, law, public administration, real estate, regional and/or city planning, and urban planning and design.

PIDC launched the PIDC-D’Alessio Scholarship for Urban Development as part of PIDC’s 60th anniversary, and in recognition of Walt D’Alessio’s decades of commitment and leadership at PIDC; his many years of service to Philadelphia’s business, civic, and governmental communities; and his support for people across the profession. Walt committed more than 46 years to PIDC as its chief executive and chairman. He embodies the core principles of the PIDC partnership—dedication, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to supporting growth throughout Philadelphia.

Up to two (2) scholarships of up to $2,500 each will be awarded. Scholarship recipients will also be offered a paid PIDC fall internship in 2024. Students must either be pursuing a graduate degree at a Philadelphia college or university, or be a Philadelphia resident at a college or university studying outside the Philadelphia area. The scholarship application is open January 25 to March 31, 2024 (extension granted if needed).
