Ready. Set. Fail: Unleash the Innovator Within

Creating and innovating define the human spirit. This discussion focuses on how the innovator's journey that we all experience is integrated into our personal and professional lives and how failure is an integral part of that journey. 

 

Keynote address by Donna De Carolis, PhD, founding Dean of the Charles D. Close School of Entrepreneurship, followed by an engaging panel discussion featuring: 

 

  • James T. Bean- Drexel University Trustee, alumni (BS ‘91, LeBow), entrepreneur, advisor and investor 

  • Valerie V. Gay, CFP- Non-profit administrator, recording and performing artist and thought leader 

  • D.S. Nicholas, NCIDQ, AIA, LEED, GA, ASID- Associate professor and director of the MS in Design Research Program at the Westphal College of Media Arts and Design, research, teacher and community advocate 

 
A continental breakfast is available prior to the plenary and lunch will follow. Conference attendees will also receive a notebook and pen. 

 

A livestream and recording of the plenary will be available on YouTube. 

 

Currently enrolled Drexel graduate and professional students who attend the plenary session will be entered into the raffle. Students must be in attendance and provide a valid DragonCard photo ID to claim their prize. Accelerated degree students who maintain undergraduate status are not eligible for the raffle; however, everyone is welcome to attend the plenary and conference!

Special Award Announcement 

 

We will also be announcing a special competition with a monetary award of $1,500 in honor of Freddie Reisman, who has served as pioneer of creativity at Drexel for a creative concept in higher education. Graduate students will receive details on how they can compete for this award at the plenary session. More details to be announced.
