Message from the Dean: Join Us in Interdisciplinary Conversation

Daniel Christe (BS/MS), GSA vice president for academic affairs Jerry John Nutor, dean of the Graduate College James Herbert, PhD, and Helene Maliko-Abraham (EdD) at the February Books & Bagels program.

April 20, 2016

Dear Graduate Students:

As you may know, in collaboration with the Graduate Student Association (GSA), the Graduate College sponsors Books & Bagels, Conversations in Interdisciplinary Research programs, which have hosted well over 100 student speakers and faculty moderators since 2012. So far in 2016 we have heard from outstanding PhD, professional doctorate, MS and BS/MS students from across Drexel’s schools and colleges, and would very much like to hear from you the future!

Books & Bagels provides the perfect opportunity for the Drexel community to hear about what graduate students, across the entire university, are accomplishing, as well as for worthy students to present their research in a conversational and interdisciplinary setting. In short, the program is rewarding for both the presenters and the audiences, and truly enables conversations about today’s most relevant topics. Plus, there is a free lunch included--what better way is there to spend a Friday afternoon?

I am personally inviting you to complete the Books & Bagels Speaker Interest Form if you are interested in presenting at our next program on Friday, May 13, or are interested in presenting over the next academic year. For more information please visit the Books & Bagels Page on our website or feel free to email graduatecollege@drexel.edu any questions or feedback.

I look forward to seeing you soon at an upcoming program.

Sincerely,

James Herbert, PhD

Executive Vice Provost and Dean, Graduate College
