Nancy Gerber, Ph.D., ATR-BC, LPC, Director of the Ph.D. program in Creative Arts Therapies has published an article in The Arts in Psychotherapy Volume 33, Issue 2, 2006, Pages 98-112 entitled "The essential components of doctoral-level education for art therapists".

The purpose of this research was to explore the interaction and influence of cultural, epistemological, and philosophical structures on the development of educational missions, curricular components, and pedagogical methods of doctoral education for art therapists.
